  • Black represents our sin

Sin is the word the Bible uses to explain our life in separation from God.  All people have sin in their lives.  It means to miss the mark, or to not reach perfection.  All people have sinned.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23

All people who are separated from God live in darkness and when they die, will be eternally separated from God.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

So if all of us are separated from God, then how can we be restored to Him?  How can we know God?

  • Red represents the sacrifice of Jesus

The Bible tells us that even when we were separated from God, He still loves us.

For God so loved the world that He gave is one and only son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life.

    John 3:16

God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

    Romans 5:8.

He sent His only Son, Jesus to the earth to live among us and show us His nature.  Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life and gave His life for us, so that we would not have to be separated from God anymore.  He is the only way to come back to God, our creator.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

    John 14:6.

So we must accept His sacrifice for our sin, ask Him to take control of our life and make us new.  He brings man and God back together.

  • white represents forgiveness

When we accept the sacrifice of Jesus for our sin, He makes us new again.  He removes the darkness of sin and separation from our lives and replaces it with His own nature: clean and pure.  We do not have to live in darkness anymore.  Because He paid our penalty for sin, we now look forward to eternity with Him and can live this life in victory over evil and darkness.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  Old things are passed away and behold all things become new.

    2 Corinthians 5:17.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    1 John 1:9

  • Blue represents obedience

When we receive forgiveness from Jesus, He washes us clean.  He wants us to follow His example and be baptized to show our obedience to Him and to demonstrate to others what He has done in our lives.  The word "baptize" means to put under water.  It is simply a public declaration to others that Jesus has forgiven us and made us a new person.

Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in a new way of life.  Romans 6:4

  • Green represents growing in Christ

When we begin our relationship with Jesus, we will want to know Him better by reading His Word to us...the Bible.  It will show us all He wants us to learn and help us to grow each day to be more like Him.

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory for now and forever.

    2 Peter 3:18.

We also grow by connecting to others who have also been forgiven and are seeking to be like Him.  This is the church, His family.  Our church has many opportunities for people to come together and learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus.  We hope you'll join us and let us walk with you on this new journey.
